I was kidnapped by pirates at a very young age and forced to work my passage to this strange, new land. During my years of swashbuckling, I went to Vassar college and studied philosophy, lived in London, moved to California and ran a small business that made bath fizzies, and perfected the art of dreaming.

Now I write and illustrate books using what I've brought with me from the 20th century: paper, pencils, nostalgia, and a joyful irreverence.
